Dr.Omer Akmal (Periodontist)

Dr. Akmal completed his bachelor’s in Psychology at The George Washington University . After which, he pursued his DDS degree at The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery . He continued on to earn a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), where he learned advanced cosmetic and restorative procedures. During this time he found his passion for the surgical aspect of dentistry, and completed an additional 3 years of surgical training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery, at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Akmal’s compassion and understanding of the fears and anxiety of a visit to the dentist in conjunction with his background in Psychology make him an excellent caregiver. He will put your fears at ease, and help you to understand the issues with your teeth, and how he will work to solve them. His approach to dentistry revolves around a strong relationship with his patients, a strong emphasis on patient understanding of their disease process, and active participation in their own treatment.

Dr. Akmal is an active member of “The American Academy of Periodontics” (which he is a Board Certified member). In his free time, Dr.Akmal enjoys exploring the various arts and food nooks around DC, football, soccer, travelling, and rock climbing.

Dr. Anna Bruhn (DMD)

Dr. Bruhn completed her bachelor’s in Biology and French language at the University of Notre Dame. She then attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she graduated with awards in operative dentistry and was inducted as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She went on to complete a general practice residency at the Baltimore VA Hospital, where she furthered her training in all aspects of dentistry, including extractions, root canals, and complex crown and bridgework.

Dr. Bruhn loves building long-lasting relationships with her patients to ensure they have the best possible experience. She is committed to providing quality, comprehensive dental care to all of her patients and staying up-to-date with the latest advances in dentistry. Dr. Bruhn’s goal is to make sure you’re comfortable in the dental chair and walk out with a smile!
